I don't know how many old band members are with him now but I do wish he with either call himself ELO or just plain Jeff.
I bet his house is called Jeff Lynne's house, his mug has Jeff Lynne's mug written on it.
Oi jeff lend us your phone.
No.
Why not?
It's jeff lynne's phone.

It's the way with these hasbeens on the comeback, they have to differentiate themselves from fakers, tribute bollcks and other band members having a go and nicking the name.
Look at The Beat (I'd rather not) -
The Beat Feat. Ranking Roger
The English Beat With Original Singer Dave
etc

used to work with a rabid the Sweet fan, who'd endlessly discuss (mainly with himself) the merits of Andy Scott's Sweet vs Steve Priest's Sweet vs New Sweet vs Brian Connoly's Sweet

They are called the English Beat in America as there was already an American Beat.

Jeff Lynne is far from a hasbeen, that is a bit harsh 😆 he is the dullest performer I have ever seen though, some great tunes but like watching paint dry 😆

I didnt say they weren't, just pointing out why they are called the Beat and the English Beat in America.

Still popular around San Francisco apparently.

I saw Jeff Lynne in concert with Ry Cooder at the SECC in the early 90's. All was going well until Jeff stood up and walked across the stage to get another guitar. That's when we all say that he was wearing these magnificent, purple satin flares.

There was a sudden silence, then from the back of the auditorium came a solitary cry of "Haw Jeff! Whaure'd ye get they troosers?"

The place errupted, and I honestly thought he was going to storm off in the huff.

🙂

Wonderful band one of my favourites first time round. Loved the fact they where playing Mr Blue Sky at the 2012 Olympics.

I think one of the band members died in a car crash

Sometimes these band names get changed for copyright reasons or then again perhaps just ego 😐
