So I had Jazz fm on the digital this morning in the other room and the usual Kenny G stuff is on. Then....

Ivan ''boogaloo joe'' Jones came on.

I think I feel a need to reimerse myself in Jazz 😀

Any other similar Jazz that I should consider? Funky no?

Try some of the following,
Billy Cobham
Charles Earland
Les McCann
The Headhunters
Herbie Hancock(electric/fusion stuff)
Jimmy Smith
Gil Scot Heron(some of his stuff more soul jazz but good)
Lonnie Liston Smith
Miles Davis(again some of his electric fusion stuff- late 60's early 70's)
Nathan Haines modern stuff
Nina Simone Funkier than a mosquitos tweeter
The Quantic Soul Orchestra
Roy Ayers
The Blackbyrds

Hope this helps.

Check out Ronny Jordan, along the lines of Ivan ''boogaloo joe'' Jones.
