My better half is taking part in a fundraiser for her school.* I'll spare you the platitudes and Simon Bates voiceover, but she's pledged to walk 100 miles this month for cancer research. She hasn't had a vast amount of uptake in sponsorship so far, so if you could throw a coin to your Witcher or whatever it is the cool kids probably don't say any more, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading.

Linky (note I couldn't get the page to load in Chrome, could just be my aggressive security settings but I had to jump to Edge).

(* - she works there, she's not a pupil...)

Your lack of commitment disturbs me! 😉

Sadly you have to create an account to donate. If they'd just let you donate via PP I'd have happily donated. I have a real thing about websites which demand you create accounts for one off things...

Oh, bless your hearts. Thank you.

Do you? That's exactly what I just did, I think they just want more details for gift aid? 🤷‍♂️

Hah. She asked me on the way out to work this morning, "did you just post that somewhere?" You've doubled her sponsorship, she's gonna shit when she gets home tonight.

You're all lovely people and I adore you.

Done. Lost my sister to cancer at 32 years young and happy to sponsor for a worthy cause, even more so when the activity associated with it is a challenge for the donator.

Good look Mrs Cougar 😃

Good look Mrs Cougar

I think we can safely say that this sentiment applies much more broadly than just to this walk 😉

Done, my sister is currently battling some serious cancer and its ****ing aweful. Shes already been through 4 courses of chemo, which in the end did nothing. Shes had a major heart operation to remove one bit of cancer and is waiting for another op to remove her diaphragm and one of her lungs to get the other 4!

Hopefully after that she will be alright, but may still need radio therapy...

**** cancer!

Shithead.

😁

Honestly, it probably doesn't sound like a massive challenge to the STW denizens who claim to still ride bikes. But she's got a knackered back and needs to be careful with exercise so it's been quite daunting for her. She is, as far as I know, slightly ahead of hitting her target just now.

Done.
Sister-in-law died of brain cancer nearly 2 years ago aged 38.
My nearly 4 year old daughter is nearly 2 years into chemotherapy for leukaemia. Scheduled to have radiotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant in August.
Cancer is crap.

Update:

She's made it, up to 114 miles now with three days left. I'm very proud.

If you've got a couple of quid burning a hole in your pocket post-payday, we'd appreciate it.

Cheers.
