I've just moved onto Jesus phone 4 but on orange, now I appreciate the actual call signals vary depending on mast locations etc but does the same apply for mobile Internet? ie will oranges 3g be any better than my current O2 effort (which at my current place of work is sh¥te at best) or is it a case of you get the best available no matter what network?

no, it vaires hugely. google 3g coverage maps - i think it's ofcom who have done some pdf's showing 3g coverage.

IIRC orange is one of the better ones. o2 wasn't.

i've just gone to orange from o2 and so far have found orange to have wider coverage, but is noticeably slower than o2's.

Orange 3G is pretty slow on my handset. O2 was quicker for me.

O2 seem to have one of the flakier 3G networks in the UK, not overly impressed with it in the last couple of years. Orange should be better now they can use T Mobiles network too.
