Just got my AA membership renewal through and it's gone up. I know I could probably haggle them down a bit, but Green Flag seem to be about more than half the price for the same sort of cover, even with my 'loyalty discount'.
I've not broken down in about 5 years, so I see the risk as low, and whether it takes 40mins for them to come out or an hour is not that bigger deal to me.
Any experience of Green Flag?
AA - £129 for roadside / home / relay (incl a £42 discount !!)
Green Flag - £60 Recover (similar looking cover)
In my Experience green flag is actually better than the aa, certainly quicker. Free with my natwest account
were awful for me had it via the insurance for both cars. Turned up to collect the wrong car then refused despite membership being shown as the muppets had it down to collect the other car. Refused to come out again/change this.I had to get car removed as coppers insisted after a crash and they called their own. I then had to sue them using their legal cover [owned by Direct line] to get my money back.
I may have been unlucky but I wont use them or Direct Line
Been with them years and never had any problems
try autoaid
mainly use 3rd party garages so can be a bit quick to want to tow you to there place to fix car, slow as they all are really.
Got better from AA & RAC
Autoaid by far the best I've ever used - cover me and a partner (ha!) on all of my cars for ~£38 /year, brilliant!
Been with green flag from when they where still National Breakdown, back in the eighties. They've been brilliant for me, I've never had to wait longer than half an hour and never had any problems with them. Changed from the AA when I had a nightmare trip back from Loch Lomond with their relay (14 hours after calling)
Where I've found Greenflag can be useful is it gives you a tailored quote rather than flat rate packages- if you have more than one car/driver in the household you can get one policy that covers them all, ticking the boxes for elements you want, cutting the services you don't want. So far I've always found I can get a better level of cover for less that way than with any of the other guys.
