it comes with the 8.5 free version.
Does it slow down browsing noticable?

I have it disabled as it was making google loads really slow.

Haven't had an issue with it being slow. But whether you need it depends on what you google for, I guess. I can't remember the last time I found something that wasn't green.

If you want protection get the NoScript add-on for Firefox - it disables Javascript by default, which cuts out a lot of risk. You can turn trusted sites back on easily when you visit them.

slow on an older machine OK if new fast cant recall ever seing a red sight from Google
