Loving the shameless Sony version!

eh?
Oddly enough, when the iPhone was in the first design stages, it was a Sony aesthetic that was requested for the initial prototypes.
This has just come out during one of the Apple/Samsung legal spats.
I always loved Sony kit back in the '80's, and thought of Apple as having a similar sense of design.
Jonny Ive's design hero is Dieter Rams, Braun's head designer.
Very odd. I take it these are just fictional mock-ups yes?
Speakers/mic moved to the sides - how does that work for left handed people? They'd be talking into the speaker.
Why are there suddenly so many buttons?
WTF is that big knob button on the side?
Where is the headphone socket?
Presume the knob is some kind of scrolling system. They had in their Palm devices. In fact that looks quite a bit like a modernised version of one of their Palm Clies (long before the iPhone)
Here's the original story by the way:

Thanks Graham, that's what I was referring to.
