driving to work this morning and skidded on some wet leaves so deduced that water made them slippy
out riding the bike on limestone and when wet is very slippy but grippy when dry
pulling some sheets of plywood from my van and my dry hands were slipping off so spit on them
and they were very grippy strange that water made my hands grippy. Why.
because you're a fish
water is a slag, purify it and it just wants to get dirty again
Human saliva is 98% water, but it contains many important substances, including electrolytes, mucus, antibacterial compounds and various enzymes.
According to Wiki anyway. So probably something else making it sticky, also along with whatever is on your hands.
Because the plywood is covered in a fine dust, wetting it damped it down.
Off topic slightly....did anyone watch the docu on bbc2 last night, about bottled water ?
what if it had been dry leaf dust then would the water have made it slippy
just tried it on a nice clean table I was lifting and water helped there too
Water is technically a sticky substance - I saw it once on a Christmas lecture
