We will be in touch
Coincides with the high winds.....so it could be the aerial however wouldn't ALL reception be lost if this was the case?
Only Beeb channels showing.
Tried auto retune.
Wait a day or so - reception for each of the channel bands can be variable, so if, like us, you haven't got great reception anyway, it's a bit of a lottery as to what channels it finds! We get strong BBC channels here, and ITV, C4, etc, are a bit of a mixed bag.
i had similar issues a few years ago and i was told at the time that it depended on where my aerial was picking up the freeview signal from; apparently, in our area (south manc) it could be one of three different transmitters and the signal strength would have a bearing on whether it could successfully display all freeview channels.
so yes, it could well be your aerial.
Other way round for us...Where I live I can literally see the Reigate Hill TV transmitter in the distance but can't get BBC channels and need to point the aerial at Crystal Palace which I can't see due to the pesky North Downs getting in the way. However I then lose some of the other lesser known channels.
In short, find out where your transmitters are and try pointing at a different one.
You obviously got the upwardly mobile model, it does not allow you to tune in to ITV anf other channels because they are a bit "common".
Ah got it, aerial may have turned. Will wait for more high wind 😉
Binners (with his inbuilt Guardian voice) will probably think my TV is now heaven-sent 😆
Hmm, time to head roofward with a compass me thinks. Thanks all!
Our freeview signal is very weather dependent here in South Essex up on the 'Downs'. High pressure, high winds all tend to make freeview unusable. We have had to install a freesat receiver to ensure continuity of service. When switchover is complete at the end of April and the Freeview signal strength is increased this problem should no longer exist. Perhaps this situation applies to you as well?
It;s the aerial. Do you get BBC4? That's on a different multiplex. Our is variable from Crystal Palace.
Aerial. We lost the BBC multiplex (but ITV etc was still there) -- nudged the aerial up a bit and they came back. Neighbour lost ITV but had BBC because her aerial had come adrift and tipped sideways slightly. RF + digital = weirdness 🙂
As above channels are broadcast in groups (multiplex), and usually will contain similar channels, ie mainly bbc, mainly itv etc, sounds like the aerials moved or could be moisture in the coax cutting down the signal, so you've lost a mutliplex or two, that kinda thing.
