If somebody used images taken at an event that I organised to promote other events is there anything that I can do about it other than be very, very annoyed?

Did the photographer give permission for images to be used?

are they your images? if so, I would send them a letter/email asking for them to be removed or payment in lieu of.

Pee in his shoes or own him with bombers

Funnily enough there was an event being organised in the New Forest which 'borrowed' a load of Big Bike Bash photos to promote their event. They were asked to stop. They did.

If the photographer is ok with the usage then the best course of action is probably to flame the other event organiser on a popular MTB forum.

Did you pay the photographer?

Only based on a little experience. Aiui you (or the land owner) can ask them to stop taking pics if it is private property but can't do anything about pics they have already taken. Once that have the pics there will be certain restrictions depending on the content (eg model release for images with people, possibly images with branding in).

It is the local authority. They effectively killed off HTN when the organisation appointed by them to manage the trail centre kicked us out, then used images of it on the front cover of their What's On guide.

Cheeky bastards.

If I were you, I'd complain loudly about it on the Internet somewhere.

Who's managing the Trail Centre now?

I'm not going to name them because I wouldn't give them the steam off my piss let alone a mention on here.

Any point in several hundred extremely polite e-mails to the council pointing out their no doubt entirely innocent error?

Why not do a reverse Specialized?

I'll wait until everything has been finalised then post something.

Great things are afoot... but not in Bury, despite what the cover of their publication may suggest.

We need to hit it hard and hit it fast with a major, and I mean major, leaflet campaign.

That'll teach the bastards.
A polite, correctly punctuated leaflet, obviously.

I might chain myself to the Lady Mayoress as a protest anyway.
I hope she likes kebabs.

Contact local papers, get a journo to do a feature about it; there's always someone looking for ammunition to show the current local gov'mint on an unflattering light. And you can supply pictures... ๐Ÿ˜€

Is that Louis in the background?

And why has the bloke in front got his underpants on over his tights?

It is Louis ๐Ÿ˜€

Quite fitting really as, as far as I know, he has done the most HTNs.

Not seen him since the pub ride in the summer - will have to drop him a line and organise a pootle.

Must be loads of people who've done them all - Derek, Binners, Junky, nbt, Pook, DONK etc?
