Seems to have failed, with a no entry sign at boot up and then no further progress. T'internet seems to think our Drive has done wrong - can anyone confirm this? Is there a known fix?

What model of iMac?

It's could be a hardware problem, or it could be an installation issue.

Try this to repair OSX: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201314

You can also reinstall via the info on that link as well.

....better advice can be given depending on model year tho.

Its an iMac 27" 2016 3.4ghz with 1TB Fusion drive. Purchased through KCRS just before December 2016.

Does reinstalling the OS wipe the Fusion Drive / content off the Mac, that'd be an issue. This has happened immediately after an OS update.

No pudding until it learns to mend its ways ?

If it happened immediately after an update hopefully it's a software thing & the drive is physically ok. You can plug in your Time Machine backup and hold command-R when booting to restore from it.

Because you would have set up a Time Machine backup to run to an external USB or network drive. If you don't know about it then presumably you unfortunately don't.

Wait...you bought it in December 2016?

Ring Apple/KRCS and tell them to sort it.

You get a year of telephone support from Apple. Best to get them to help than us throwing info at you.

Go through the below link till you get to the contact us by phone bit.

You disappoint me.

As above - get on the blower and get them to sort it. I've always had excellent customer service from Apple despite buying all my stuff from the Square Group just before they shut down.
