When I take 'after' pics, would you like me to be wearing:

a) the same lycra shorts
b) underwear
c) speedos
d) something else?

I am quite impressed that you manage to taste the difference between different water bottles solo! Have you done a blind test? I did the same once with ribena poured into water vs water poured into ribena, and could taste the difference with a blindfold on.

Molgrips where was your 'before' picture put up? I'm curious in a sado machoistic way to see how well you've done.

No, meat products such as black pudding, sausages, re-formed 'grill steaks' etc all contain significant amounts of cereal products as bulking agents so aren't iMeat.

This also means nothing in a 'crumb coat' as this will be grain derived and no pre made 'meals' with a sauce element as they will be thickened with dairy products.

Bimbler.

Ref the bread thing, Motivforv's gram flour bread is good and will go well with a Chilli.
That gram flour bread is one of thebest things I've discovered through these discussions.
Thanks Motivforv

Thanks Solo, yeah I'm a fan of the flatbread, super quick too (is that the one you mean?), my kids less so "errrr dad it tastes like foam". I'll probably try and chuck some seeds in next time.

Try some onion seeds. I got mine from eBay.

Motivforv.

I wasn't tasting the bottles themselves, just the water in them.

You may scoff, but you can taste the difference between waters of differing origins, and defo tap water. Yuck !.

Bimbler.
As the others have suggested, stick something in the batter to "pep-up" those flat breads.

eye bleach ?.

Nah, we'd all need MIND BLEACH
😯

Although it would seem that some of us here..... have already had enough of that particular beverage.

Onion seeds are also called and sold as nigella seeds(as in that ebay ad) in sainsburys, probably other supermarkets too , they're black and about the same size as sesame seeds, in case anybody is looking for them.

I can definitely taste the difference in tap water in different areas. Here (Uxbridge, London) is crap, really manky tasting, whereas bournemouth (home) is quite nice. To combat the nasty tasting water I keep bottles in the fridge so that I drink nice cold water.

True. I was interesting to be forced to look at it again actually - there have been big improvements but I fear the black shorts will hide some of it. And no I'm not removing them unless iDave gets another £100 on his charity appeal. For that I'll wear nothing but some blurred pixels. Make it £150 and I'll do some body builder poses.

That's a nice way of saying 'my god you fat ugly b*stard'

No mate. Although I have already seen the light.
As I've pointed out before, I'm a dumb dumb and I know it.
I admit I'm not in the heavy weight league here on STW, but like the rest of us, I keep coming back for more.
Heck, I'm not even drinking enough water. Who needs to be told to drink more water ?. Only I could get such a simple thing wrong.

So I meant what I posted. You've got balls, I couldn't do that, or if I did, the mods would see their "report post" inbox simply light up and burn baby burn. Some pictures are just too terrible to release.
😆

Incidentally, what was your weight back then ?, you say you're down to around 84Kg now. How much have you managed to lose, and are you happy with what you have achieved, so far ?.

Solo - I think my weight then was 91-92kg, not sure as I didn't weigh in before hand.. d'oh! My heaviest was before Christmas at 94kg. I'm happy with the loss so far, but I've been this weight before once when I dieted and rode tons of base miles, which was far harder and less pleasant.

I still have excess fat and some handles, and I'm still not light enough to win races. I reckon I need to be capable of at least 4.5W/kg at threshold, which would still mean threshold of 380W rather than the 320W or so it is now. That sounds hard, so I reckon the weight loss is still my best option. 80kg is my target.

So overall result is that iDiet is only as good as the old fashioned 'eat less move more' routine, dissapointing 😕

😆

iDave is right. The new direction my daily diet has taken is completely sustainable as far as I'm concerned.
I will happily go on as I have been. In some ways its better than before.
For one, I just don't feel hungry most of the time now, and it was feeling hungry between meals that use to drive me to making bad eating decisions.

I've just demolished around 700ml of lentils with Cod chunks, Bacon, carrot, cumin, salt, oregano and tabasco souce, all washed down with water. And I feel way better than if, like all those around me right now, I'd have eaten a huge sandwich.
They'll be hungry by 4:00pm.
I'll not get home until way after 10:00pm tonight, and I'll feel fine.

Its a fact, that those blessed with natural slenderness just can't get their heads around how easy it is for some folk to lard-up.
And so they will naturally find it hard to accept that iDaves advise works.

It's not all about the stats (as i've found out). Doesn't tell you how good you are at buffering lactic acid.. how well you recover.. how long you sustain a sprint... how good you are at actual racing

I'm talking more about road racing here but i've found i can quite easily ride in 3/4 cat road and crit races and stay with the front group (and move from the back to front in crit races). However, When it ramps up to a sprint at the end i can't sustain it..

Also you still have to develop race craft and technique.. it's simply not enough to say I need a certain W/kg to win races.

(and this is coming from someone that was getting very excited by my stats and improvements)

That's what I am hoping 🙂 Also technical skill comes into it in MTBing too. I think I am good at most of the rest of it (apart from taking the pressure of having someone on my wheel due to complete lack of experience of that 🙂 ) so I feel like it's just the lard that's holding me back...

So overall result is that iDiet is only as good as the old fashioned 'eat less move more' routine, dissapointing

I should add that the weight loss this time has been much quicker and easier than the last time, and then I plateaued at 84.5 and could not shift no matter what when I started to include speed work in my training. I've done speed work throughout this period of weight loss.

We shall see if I can keep going, and what I can maintain 🙂

I am a bit down, didn't loose anything this week despite three intense commute rides and pretty much sticking to the diet. How do you know when you've reached a good weight to aim for? I know it'd be different for everybody, my notion was to get to 12 stone and I am at 12.5, half to go. I am 6 foot. Anybody got any guidance on this? Is it % fat figure that's important?

TPM.

That sounds similar to my current situation. I believe I'm around 84Kg, I'm 6'1". I too would like to get back to around 77 - 79Kg
