We will be in touch
thats pure class, 😆
Loved the man whe he was at QPR, still consider him the most humane of all football people (if not all people).
Thanks for the link.
I've always admired Olly, for his forthrightness and honesty. I think he's a total breath of fresh air compared to many of the shysters and bullshitters in football management today. Indeed, Bacon Face, Whinger etc would do well to take lessons in humility from him.
As regards Rooney; he's spot on. Jumped up spoilt prick thinks an entire football club should revolve around him, without having anywhere near sufficient respect for the best manager in club football for the last 20 years, and one of he greatest managers ever. He should feel proud to play for one of the greatest clubs in World football, ungracious ****. I hate Man Utd, but I think Rooney's actions and behaviour is utterly disgraceful, and damaging to himself, his team-mates, his club, and ultimately, football. Demanding obscene wages, when many in his own home town struggle to make ends meet. He needs to take a step back and realise how lucky he is in life; without football, what would he be? The bloke can hardly string a coherent sentence together, has a nasty temper and little respect for others.
Pft.
All Hail Olly.
Yeah, shame we shafted him at QPR, glad hes gone on and done well, football needs him, and he's right about that **** at Man U
That's tremendous, you've got to love the fact that he is completely open and upfront 🙂
The man has NO filter. I love it.
I know bugger all about football but - did he used to manage Bristol Rovers? The name sounds familiar.
Comedy rant - respect!
The man has passion and tells It like he see's It. We need more like him.
Fantastic. The big swinging dicks at the FA need to be sat down and forced to watch that Clockwork Orange style until it sinks in.
Their silence was deafening over the whole Liverpool fiasco. And know they sit there mute while some jumped up 24 year old thinks he can hold the most successful club in English football to ransom
*sits back and awaits Fred to dispute the last sentence*
🙂
Not only did Olly used to Manage Bristol Rovers he was a passionate hardworking midfielder for the Gas in the 1980s and early 90s
if you guys enjoyed that, you ought to tune in to talksport.
there's 50 cabbies a day calling in with opinions like that.
ronnie and reg would have sorted it.
Didn't he **** off and leave Plymouth whilst contracted to the club though - leaving them in the shit?
Gotta say I like the guy though - great entertainment!
if only Ferguson's first name was 'Massey', it would be perfect coming from Holloway's mouth.
*sits back and awaits Fred to dispute the last sentence*
Manchester Utd have won one more domestic trophy, but Liverpool have won more trophies overall. So, I'll give you that, as long as you admit (well it doesn't matter if you do or don't really) that Liverpool are the most successful English club.
I think the 5 Yeropean cups to 3 clinches it. 😉
Indeed, Bacon Face, Whinger etc would do well to take lessons in humility from him.As regards Rooney; he's spot on. Jumped up spoilt prick thinks an entire football club should revolve around him, without having anywhere near sufficient respect for the best manager in club football for the last 20 years, and one of he greatest managers ever. Leading by example agin fred 🙄
😀
Can't stand Fergie, and it's only a bit of banter Junkyard, come on!
I respect him as the best manager in club football in the World right now. I don't think giving him a nickname is all that disrespectful?
Anyway, I'm under no obligation to respect him at all. Rooney is. Fergie has invested a lot of time in nurturing his talent, and helping him become one of the best players around. Rooney has won top honours, because he's been at a club Fergie's been in charge of. He woon't have won f-all at Evershite.
I don't think giving him a nickname is all that disrespectful?
Imagine what would happen if you used this nickname to his face? It would be excellent to see a hairdryer off between the two of you.
Come on; he'd stand no chance. He'd end up having heart attack if he took me on.
I'd kick a boot in his face. 😡
He woon't have won f-all at Evershite
He'd have won the mersey derby last week
S'not a trophy though is it? Everton just see it as one, because it's all they can look forward to each season really.
Love the irony of the "wonga.com" adverts behind him!
Is it yet another Liverpool are best/No, they ain't, they're crap discussion?
If Olly became the England manager some primadonnas would be in for a shock, most of his interviews would be beeped and England would be able to beat Macedonia. Possibly.
Love Ian Hollaway - rants like that are magic. Total bollax but brilliant. The big problem football has its that it has to follow European Employment Law - Bosman is basically a fudge to get round this a bit. In Rooney's case Man Utd have the problem that his contract expires in 18 months time. If they don't sell him he can leave at the end. Ian appears to be stating that this should not happen and Rooney belongs to Man Utd until they no longer want him.
if you guys enjoyed that, you ought to tune in to [s]talksport[/s] talkspite......
Fixed that for you.
Im not sure I agree with him - however he is a great character and I love his columns and conferences.
I work for my employer with a contract yet I'm free to leave and go elsewhere - the transfer money shouldn't have anything to do with it - you don't "own" that player based on the transfer fee - the fee is only there to encourage other clubs to release the player from there contract and as compensation for that.
IMO the only way to fix things like this is to ban transfer fees and restrict contracts to 2 years maximum - the good players will stay at the good clubs or where they can see clubs improving if midtable. This will work 2 ways with clubs not becoming ruined by large contracts over long periods (Marcelino at Newcastle is my example if your aware of this).
I think Holloway's point, is that Rooney is a Man U player until such time as they sell him or his contract finishes, and should show loyalty and respect to his employers, colleagues and fans. The time, money and effort Man U have invested in Rooney is immense, and Holloway is arguing that the club should still be entitled to something, even after his contract has expired.
What Man U are entitled to at least, is for Wayne to at least show some respect to them. Stroppy ungrateful ****.
winston bogarde was at chelsea for 4 years and played 11 times on 40k a week
just like marcelino at the toon, wasn't really there for a kickabout just the cash. Football is full of money grabbing shysters all built up by their agents and friendly journo's (see Sky's sunday supplement if proof is needed)some of the poor dears can barely change a light bulb without help from there agents or some other simpering sychophant (sp?). I think Rooneys issue is that he's got caught with his pants down (again) and is fed up with the same media that built him up (and paid for his wedding) knocking him down. If he thinks going to Real or Barca is going to solve that issue then he can dream on. Nuggets, the bloody lot of em.
I liked that rant. No idea what he was talking about, but it's clear he feels quite strongly about it.
He kept talking about really large sums of money, is he buying a company or something?
Vidic should knock Rooney as he's the captain. Mr "I'm mates with the boxing legend called What's-His-Name?" wouldn't loose his looks (they could actually get better) and order of some sort would be restored.
Holloway is funny, that is all though as the content of his musings are a load of tosh generally.
I don't see a problem with Rooney refusing to sign a new contract, Manu are in decline and in the 6 or so years he has been there not many of the signings are regulars and definitely not game winners with the exception of nani who seems to be developing nicely. Just look at this season, 5 draws already.
Not really sure where he will go although Chelsea might be an option. Drogba and Amelia are both getting on and he would suit their style a lot more than barca or real.
If he decides to go to Chelsea, and Ferguson says yes to it - unlikely IMO, he will play in the reserves as both Drogba and Anelka know where the goal is and he forgot how to score.
still consider him the most humane of all football people (if not all people).
Thanks for the link.
Whats he done, peace in the middle east?
oh hang on he's a football manager!
'ere, if you buy an 'ouse, n you own the deeds iz yours'
Pure fukkin class this!
Ian Holloway has made a name for himself by saying what he thinks and he can be funny at times, he knows how to work the media to his benefit.
When he was at Plymouth he was always saying there is not enough loyalty in football. Right up until the day before he left he was saying he loved Plymouth and could not imagine going elsewhere, the next day he was leicester City manager.
Is he a Top Man or a hypocrite? Check out his track record and make your own mind up.
AFAIC He should be at QPR, them were the days (I was even shown around the stadium when he was there - an integral part of cycle training course in the area was a visit to Loftus Lane).
