Just cannot get my PC to recognise my HTC Desire, either as a disk drive or by using HTC sync... PC says it's installed all the drivers, phone shows it's connectd via USB, but I can't ****in do anything, HTC Sync keeps saying there's no device connected, the phone reckons it can't find HTC Sync on the PC... been trying for 2 hours and about to throw the bloody thing through a wall!
Any ideas before I destroy something? 😡
Is this the first time? I had a similar problem with my desire s. Seemed to work after I removed the usb and restarted the PC, wait until it booted completely and plugged in again.
Also, don't mean to patronise, but check the phone isn't set to charge only.
defo set to 'HTC sync' when USB is attached, have tried switching off and rebooting (PC and phone), no joy. Even if I switch the USB mode to 'hard drive' the PC picks it up (I can access the SD card for instance) but I can't access the phone's folders??
psychle,
I had the same problem, which was resolved by going to Settings - Applications - Development and selecting 'USB debugging'.
Switch off firewall etc then try
2 problems there - the first its an HTC and the second its a PC.
😉
I had this problem too.
Adter you've selected "HtC sync " on the menu, you need to touch "done"
Then it should be OK
Touch " sync now" at yhe bottom your Desire screen
OK then... disabled Avast and it's worked fine, huzzah. So it's Avast being over protective I guess... any ideas how I can set it to allow the phone to connect??
