I have one - chose it over the iPhone and frankly I think it's better. The people integration is great (finally, I see someone's photo when they call), and it seamlessly integrates with Google Mail, Calendars, and Exchange. I have Last.FM running on it, and apparently Spotify is coming soon.

I'm paying £35/month for 700 mins and unlimited texts and internet, so you'll save money anyway. T-Mobile gave me a £50 gift voucher too.

Will need to check for the android wave, I haven't restarted it since I got it 2 weeks ago. 😉

Dave.

PS - check out Google Sky Map, awesome app.

I've got the G1 & I like it. beware the battery life though if you start going heavy on the internet, music player etc. I suppose one could get into the habit of charging it overnight, every night

Camera's poor though. point & shoot only. but then if you want a decent camera, I suppose you'd buy a decent camera, not a phone

As you say Google sky map is awesome. I heard that battery life suffers when you have wi-fi enabled so I downloaded free "wi-fi toggle widget" which sits on your home screen and makes a huge difference.

views....new android phone due - Samsung Galaxy (i7500 ?) Android phone should be here very soon (this month ? on O2 I think)...includes 8gb memory ( + option of adding 16gb sd card which makes it big enough for my music collection)...but I couldn't' wait and bought the iPhone 32GB which I do not regret at all.

Yeh I've got one, it's really good. It's the t mobile g2 model as opposed to the hero. Though I think they're absolutely identical. Really really like it. Have used an iphone, although not the new one, and while the g2 isn't as 'smooth' as the iphone in every other way it competes with the iphone if not beats it. More and more apps coming out by the day also.

I've had my Hero for a week, bought mine from Expansys on a 12 month contract on T-mobile, so is unlocked and unbranded. Really liking it so far particularly web browsing - infact am typing this from my Hero right now!

T-mobile haven't fiddled with any of the apps or colour schemes (for once!). Their version is black with a rubbery paint which makes it feel very secure in the hand, but it doesn't look quite as nice as the white or graphite version.

Yeah the Expansys ones are white. Would've preferred black originally but am quite liking the white now I've got it! Guess it wouldn't be great for a mechanic(?)...but then again, is a touchscreen a good idea In that case??

How many apps can you store on the phone? as i read that you cant run apps from a SD card unless you Root the phone?

Not sure tbh. I did read over on AV Forums that there's a file manager app you can download which gives you the option to save apps to SD card, but haven't tried it yet myself.
