We will be in touch
At some point in the next month or so we will be decorating the hallway/ stairs, I have no idea how to remove the carpet or refit it ! Is this a job best left for an expert ?
Any advice/p1ss taking welcome
Eh..... dust sheets and masking tape pal.
Start at bottom and pull gently it will just be held down with ggripper rods, small lengths of timber with lots of nails, daft but mark the bottom of the carpet as if you try to fit it the other way up it will not look right.
Re fitting start from top.
Eh..... dust sheets and masking tape pal.
need to paint by the sides of the stairs and they are wood it doesn't help that its brown paint (thanks to previous owner) and we want it white !, no way masking tape is going to work !
Painting a string around carpet is a PITA...personally, if it's a new carpet or not due for replacement anytime soon, I'd remove it but maybe find a mate of a mate who fits carpet who'd fit it back for the price of a few pints - would only take him a few minutes if it's already cut. Failing that, do it yourself - a nice wide, blunt bolster will do for pushing it in to corners.

scratch that - in the time i was looking you added more info.
screw painting stringers with carpet in place.
No way that stuff (good as it is for wall painting, plastering etc.) will protect the edges from painting the strings.
EDIT: crossed edits with trail_rat. 🙂
what are the strings !
Painting a string around carpet ?
the sides of the stairs - that the treads and faces are fixed too.
ah !!!!! Thanks for that very cool
No seriously will remove the carpet.
Thanks guys
I've done a few stair cases with these, worth having a set to do skirtings anyway.
