The likes of WRC top rankers like Loeb, Hirvonnen etc.. They must earn a decent wedge.
Anybody any idea how big the bucks are?
Loeb is on around £5m/yr.
Very few drivers actually get paid by the teams to drive. Most of them bring sponsorship to the teams and take a cut of this as their wage. Last time I heard (a couple of years ago, admittedly) only three drivers in the WRC were being paid to drive.
I read that Loeb was being paid €7M by Citroen in 2007 + about the same again sponsorship & video game royalties.
Dunno but they were cutting up my local trails on margam mountain today. effing overblown green laners!
