MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
for general use, e-mail, browsing etc. No video, facebook or silly downloading
Contracts seem to offer 500Mb or 1Gb
I'm totally addicted to my iPhone (and the Facebook app) and I never go over 500MB a month. It's video etc that really hits the usage limits I think.

About half a gallon a day.
I use mine all the time and don't get near 500
If you have wifi at home, most can be set so that they automatically connect through that when available. There are also several apps that will monitor your downloading and tell you if you're in danger of going over quota. So far I've been using 250-300MB a month, browsing, email, facebook etc. I download my podcasts and apps over wifi so they don't eat into my allowance.
I have mail pushed to mine, maybe 20 mins of mobile browsing a day, the odd google maps session to work out where I am, app updates, etc. It's on wifi at home though for downloading podcasts and the like.
My average over the last year has been around 150MB a month. Essentially, if you're not doing things like streaming audio or video then 500MB should be plenty.
2.3GB since the 4th of April, according to my iPhone.
I use it a fair bit at work on 3G to access this place and Facebook, BBC News etc.
So, assuming you'll be using Wifi when at home, 500MB a month is probably a pretty reasonable limit.
I'm averaging about 250 MB per month, but use wifi for downloading apps, video etc.
Google Navigation can eat it up within miles tho!
Streaming radio apps really suck up the data usage. A three hour BBC 6Music show uses 100meg, so a week's listening pleasure uses your 500Mb limit. I got my iphone4 the day it came out and I'm up over 8Gb last time I checked two or three weeks ago.
iPhone 4
facebook, lots on the app store, occasional twitter, email and a lot of STW...
in two months:
155mb sent
1.2gb recieved
doesn't seem too bad to me?
