Chris 82- Did you see Boys Noize at The Warehouse Project in Manchester earliet this month? Unreal!
Can I tell my DJ joke?
Two DJ's talking;
DJ 1 "Fancy going to the cinema tonight?"
DJ 2 "Depends, who's the projectionist?"
I thank you.
Turntablists:
D-Styles (Producer of probably the best turntabilist album in Phantasmagoria.)

DJ Fu ......nice to get some scratching in DnB when he performs with the jungle drumer.
and anyone else playing out decent DnB/Dubstep
...and loads more i know i have missed out.
Craze (saw him win the DMCs for the third time in a row at the millenium dome, bloody amazing!)
Scratch Perverts
Woody
Saw C2C play with Woody and they were very good but very rehearsed, if you know what I mean.
And no ones mentioned the following:
[url=
Skratch Piklz
[url=
Qbert
The guy who Qbert learnt it all from... Mixmaster Mike

There are loads better video's, I just can't find them!
Lazer Sword
Rustie
Can't believe I forgot Qbert! Saw him live as well and he was spectacular.
X-Executioners yeah - RIP Roc Raida. Loved some of his silly body tricks and scratches dissing everyone else at battles.
Andy Smith
Young Einstein
Anyone else catch Krush V's Kentaro at Coco in London early on this month. Absolutely awesome, though Krush' set was wierd. All mid/early 90's stuff. Class all th same.
Any way
Krush
Kentaro
Shadow (pre outsider, i'll allow Funky Skunk)
Cut Chemist
Automator
MMM
Amon Tobin
Scratch Perverts
Yoda (he's pretty fun)
The Kids in Tracksuits guy seems pretty "fresh" too
others i can't tnink of this early
I think i heard Roc Raida is dead, some martial arts injury's or something 😯
Oh yeah Andy smith for sure!
Craze is awesome at so many different genres
Kentaro
Always liked DJ Noize
MK1 from the scratch perverts
Cash Money for old school
Jeff Mills plays techno like a turntablist
Craze again, saw him at a tiny club in Norwich years ago and he absolutely rocked it.
Cash Money, good party DJ but also invented loads of new techniques that fell on deaf ears because the competition judges were more interested in body tricks.
Q-Bert, dull as ditchwater when I saw him live but amazing on record. Think "Bear Witness" might be my favourite hip hop track ever.
Eddie Def and the Bulletproof Skratch Hamsters, make Kid Koala sound like easy listening.
DJ Revolution.
Jazz-T for selling me loads of good records when I lived in the cultural desert that is Guildford...
Not turntablists but always inspire me to have a mix;
Andy C
Cyantific
Limewax
Current Value
Among many, many others!
coldcut saw them do an audiovisual dj set once and it was utterly amazing (isnt DJ Food the same two guys).
Kid Koala is amazing too although the music never quite gets going enough for me.
@ a_a
DJ food is now one guy. Started off as DJ Food Fight which was different guys doing mixes under that name. But now it's the one guy. I need citation like i was Wikipedia or some S but thats close to the truth. Coldcut were something to do with it.
Yalls should download the solid steel podcasts every week. Different dj's (coldcut etc) every week. Usually pretty "dope"
Agrreing with Mr Agreeable on Bear Witness. Even had it at a friends wake, it was bangin!
Essential viewing
Shadow, RJD2, W-bert, Mixmaster Mike
and [url=
Raida (R.I.P.) go to the 5 minute mark to be blown away.........A RAP NINJA!!!!
Shadow's production is amazing, especially Endtroducing, but as a DJ/performer, he's not up there with the best of them IMO. "Brainfreeze" was great though.
Coldcut's Journeys by DJ album is one of the most ridiculously eclectic mixes I've ever heard.
Lives in my car.Coldcut's Journeys by DJ album is one of the most ridiculously eclectic mixes I've ever heard
dj food & DK Now Listen is almost as good as Coldcuts Journeys by DJ and ColdKrush Cuts (Coldcut and DJ Foodfight versus DJ Krush is good too.
dj food is strictly kev.you will find him on solid steels going back over the years on most weekly shows.
around 2004 i saw kid koala,j.more(coldcut),darren knox(DK),blockhead and skalpel with lucky cat and juxta doing the vj stuff to top it off.never seen all the dj with vj stuff before so all these guys in one night was something else.an aerial view of the decks showing kid koala doing stuff like drunk trumpet really showed folk how on earth he did it,and without seeing it you wouldnt think anything of it.
pity the zen tour didnt happen every year :O(
Too Many Dj's are a bit tasty.
Aphex Twin does a mean D&B set.
Plump Dj's and Stanton Warriors for deep down funky tunes.
Coldcut.
the funkster
DJ food is lots of different people apparently. Coldcut started with the Jazz Breaks records.
I haven't listened to this in a while, but still love it!
DJ Food - Raiding the 20th Century a History of the Cut Up.
I think this one was done by Strictly Kev.
