dear golly gosh i can't wait for our housemate to move out!

lived with him for the last 3ish years and he's a lovely guy but he's never had to look after himself properly.. 24 years old and still has no ability to notice the mess he leaves in his wake. he's so messy and i'm certain he has eyesight problems judging by the state he leaves the kitchen/bathroom/whole damn house! when you point it out to him in an effort to get him to clean up after himself he just replies 'oh i didnt notice! sorry' and cleans it straight away.

he works nights as a baker for tescos and leaves his alarms running by accident several times a week when he's at work, so i'm often being woken by metal blasting out a mobile from his room at 15minute increments from 1am through to 5am depending on his shifts. if its not that he's shouting into a headset at other online gamers about care packages and guns and stuff.

wouldn't hurt a fly, really genuine guy and has never ever failed to pay me his rent on time and in full.. makes it harder to have words with him every couple of months to ask him to do his fair share of cleaning etc!

i left the house spotless this morning to the extent of fluffing up every damn cushion, but ive arrived home to find a house full of 'gaming buddies' (people he sits online for his entire time outside work playing xbox games with) who are all same age, drinking a fair amount of beer and have the social skills of 13yr old boys that would never make it into the 'cool' groups at school... i'm hiding in my bedroom listening to what might as well be a scene out of 'superbad' downstairs.

ARGH. rubbish rant i know, but he's leaving by new years so mrsconsequence and I can have the place to ourselves...

anybody care to tell me tales of how awesome, peaceful, clean and considerably less frustrating your life has got when you've gone from shared housing to just you and the loved one?
