Hi,
I'm setting off to Kinlochewe tonight for the Highlander Mountain Marathon. Has anyone been up to the Kinlochewe / Torridon area recently to give an idea of conditions on the ground?
I have no idea exactly where we will be going but I would guess that Saturday's running will be in the Beinn Eighe region.

Just wondering whether I need to pack my down jacket...
Any help much appreciated.

Know the organisers, snow still lying above 700 m wind a cold wind blowing in frequent showers.snow forcast for higher ground. Was at 760 m yesterday and we could only bear the top for a few mins.Below 500 m was only light winds. Watching squalls heading west towards torridon area. Hope this helps and enjoy the event

I guess you may already know about this, but if not, there is a new event of that ilk starting this year in Glencoe.

Wet and cold.

No significant amounts of fresh snow but it's been very showery all week and there is snow on the tops. The ground is fully saturated. This week valley temps have been in single figures.

I'd say dress for winter.

Depends how quick you run through Kinlochleven.
