I have one similar and I cant really recommend it. The resistive screen isnt very responsive and its not bright. I think she'd find it frustrating, I certainly do.
You really want to be looking at least for one of the capacitive screen ones which means jumping up to at least £150 I think.

I have two of them. I use them for work and sofa surfing.
But I admit theyre probably stretching into too pricey.

You can run custome firmware on it based on 3.2 and it is super fast. Capacitive screen too.
edit. all the £140 vegas are sold out.
If youre prepared to spend a bit more, costco are doing xooms for 270 ish.
