Spent all last night trying to do this. Work laptop (but have also tried others). I can connect to the network but the connection is sending data but not receiving data. Last night wouldn't connect at all (not receiving IP address - I entered this manually and now connects but as above)
Netgear router, Windows XP. I can log onto the router if that helps.
router not configred as dhcp server? won't hand out ip address if not.
if ip address entered manually, did you enter router ip, subnet mask and dns servers?
have you tried to ping an ip address on the internet, eg 212.58.253.67 (www.bbc.co.uk)?
does the router have any form of security enabled? did you enable same security on laptop? if security is enabled, disable it, get connected and then re-enable it.
I'll try the security one - presume you mean security on the router?
