Just put my laptop on and it is well and truly infected with 'bankerfox.a', can't do anything now, get online, run scans, uninstall, nothing at all. How can I get rid of it?

Super Anti Spyware and Malware Bytes are usually a good start. Failing that, back up anything you need (so long as it's not infected) and format/reinstall.

Boot into safe mode with networking (repeatedly press F8 just before windows starts up).

Then install Malwarebytes, do an update of malwarebytes virus definitions and do a full scan.

This.

Might need to use another PC to download Malwarebytes, and might need to rename the executable from MBAM.exe to something else (or download rkill first) to get it to install.

Did you install Spyware protect at some point recently?

bankerfox.a is not a real virus, it's just malware installed as part of Spyware Protect to encourage you to buy their software.

Check to see if this is installed and uninstall it, should see you right hopefully.
