Iv been it 2 minds to just let it go or to discourage it. i realise its because he may have been weaned a bit too early. We got him at 8 weeks,he started it at 10 weeks - now hes 14 weeks. will he grow out of it?

its not particularly worrying - he purrs and seems to enjoy it - but basically is that normal kitten behaviour?

Definitely weaned too early. It's a comfort thing. He'll grow out of it soon enough. Our seven year old (weaned at 12 weeks) still suckles when he dreams.

Our neighbours new Kitten (which we don't think they are looking after very well) spent yesterday evening trying to suckle from my tshirt whilst testing his new claws on my stomach. Tis a cute little cat though, not that our adult cat seems to agree...

hes usually a turbo charged play cat - likes to climb the curtains or claw his way up my leg and back to me sit on my shoulder like a pirates parrot..but when he does his suckling thing he goes into some sort of trance! at least it vaugely normal i suppose

he is keen to claw the hell out my saddle right now unfortunately

probably a bit young, but one of my mums cats was sucking and tugging on a blanket, took a couple of days to understand what it was doing. It was pulling its baby teeth out. blood on cream blanket.

Cats are ace. ๐Ÿ™‚ And he's gorgeous.
He reminds me of one of my old cats when he was a kitten (he was imaginitively named Ginger) - as he grew up he used to sit on the gate post and terrorise passing dogs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cute kitty, and startlingly blue eyes!

He does appear to have a very large Leopard-like tail from your photo, which is a bit worrying...

Had one that never gave up its security blanket, 18years of it, didnt stop it being a very effective hunter killer. Cats that present you with rabbits cant really argure with that.

We had a cat who was also taken from his mum early and suckled on anything (t-shirt, dressing gown, jumpers) for years and years. He was such a beautiful cat, but I don't think I have any photos of him...

Sure is cute! Our Pablo used to suckle on and fluffy fabric up to about a year old - it's nothing to worry about.
He's all growed up now, but still a softy!

Ah go on then, this is Boot:

He's a very funny cat - plays a lot (including fetch) and even brings his tennis ball in through the cat flap. If you really want to see him go crazy though just through a ping pong ball behind the sofa!

He used to be very cuddly but has been a bit hurt and jealous since I had the baby, silly creature ๐Ÿ™„

my brother used to hav a f-ing mental cat, it wasnt particuarly active or feral but was built like a brick shit house and had a bit of a mood with anyone it knew.

A few years back (before he got squashed) he would try and terrorise me, now i really like cats but this particular one would happily claw your legs very deep without caring too much. Other than smothering him in a blanket and chucking him out the back door the only method of subduing him was to get my brothers dressing gown and dangle it in front of him or put it near him. He would instantly rush to it and start licking and suckling the dam thing. Sometimes he would do it for hours and just roll around in it.

Damned weird cat.

My parent's cats never grew much, they were still pretty wee when they died in their late teens. Though it turns out that the only pictures I have of them online are the weird ones that I took shortly before and developed shortly after Nimbus died where he appears to be glowing:

Strange really as he is a bit of a street cat and and a bully and fights a lot...yet when in the house is a big softy...
