Arggghhh forgotten how to work out percentage Change.
I.e sales last year 150,000 forecast for this year 230,000 how do you work out on a calculator what that is in % 'change'
Getting annoyed here
is it (100/150 000) x 230 000 = 153%
obv the answer is 53% not 153%.
^ + 1
or
(230,000-150,000)/150,000 = +53%
As above.
I remember with this simple process for calculations regarding percentages. Works for any percentage calculation, or value calculation based on a percentage difference.
£150,000 = 100% (last years total)
£230,000 = x
X always to the top so...
£230,000 = x
£150,000 = 100%
Make a little equation as you see it. Divide the two known values that sit one atop the other and and multiply by the third.
(230,000 / 150,000) x 100 = 153.33
So a 53.33% uplift.
The other way round, just to demonstrate... Calculate 53.33% increase in last years revenue.
150,000 = 100%
X = 153.33%
(153.33 / 100) x 150,000 = 230,000.
Anyway, works for me so hope it helps you...
Impressive projections, but you flustered, and if you can't do simple sums then I'm afraid I can't work with you.
I'M OUT!
DrP
SEXIST !!!Impressive projections
Try changing your question into maths then solve the equation...
What is the percentage (P) increase on 150,000 to get 230,000?
Translates as. P x 150000 = 230000
P. = 230000 / 1500000
Don't forget to keep your equals signs lined up like your maths teacher told you to!
If my figures don't impress then I will resort to my impressive projection.
