Hi all,
started my pc today, and all the desktop shortcuts and recycle bin are dead, no response from right or left click. The gadget bar and toolbars work as normal, and programs are accessible from the start menu. Also, there is no response when I right click the desktop, nothing happens.
Have I been hacked, or is there a fix? Nothing shows from a virus scan. Also, I can create desktop icons, but once there, they are dead.
Im running Vista...god, this never happened with good ol' XP
Can one of you techie bods offer some advice please?

someone hasn't replaced your desktop with a picture of your desktop have they? We used to do that to people for a laugh.
naaa...first thing I did was change my wallpaper to see if someone had been fiddling, but it's not that
ha...sorted now, ran a registry cleaner...icons disappeared, then came back and now work!
ta anyway
