I put headphones on here at my desk to listen to music while i work at about half 12. I'm still wearing them but i haven't put any music on. I thought i should share this. Thanks.

It's a good move. People think you're listening to music and leave you alone used to do it all the time when I worked in an office.

Done it myself a few times. In another headphones-related idiosyncracy - it's not unusual for me to get that moment of worry on my way home from somewhere that I've dropped/forgotten my mobile phone. Even though, at the time, I'm listening to the iPod which is built into the phone.
I like to wear them or earbuds on flights without music, there's so much frikkin background noise.
I wear Shure SE215 canalphones with additional triple flanged tips, which block out a lot of background noise, 'cos I operate noisy machinery, but I often go through most of the day without playing music. I sometimes even get a phonecall, too, which comes as a surprise when it happens. Having the 'phones in doesn't stop people trying to talk to me, though. 😐
You're not the only one. I had them on for a few hours then decided to put some music on! Gives me an excuse to ignore people
