Hi,
Visiting Harrogate in a few weeks (staying fairly central). Any XC routes around the local areas?
Any particular areas to explore? Will be on a rigid fatty so not too fussed about this enduro shenanigans.
Don't have access to gpx but happy to buy an OS and explore.

Nidderdale Circuit is certainly XC in nature! Nothing particularly techy on it now they've levelled the Scar House descent a bit.
Start from Ramsgill (or Pateley if you want a bit more).

Another vote for the Nidderdale Route. You’ll whip round it in no time as it is a renowned all weather route, so will be really quick. You can re-run a couple of the best descents if all else fails!
I quite like the area around swinsty reservoir for littering and exploring.
There's some more local stuff around Ripley-Markington-Fountains Abbey area that you can ride to from Arragit. (Harrogate)

When are you in the area?
Swinsty is certainly worth a quick blast, as is Nidd Gorge and surrounding area. The red at Stainburn isn’t too taxing and you can add in Norwood across the road for a bit of exploring.
swinsty, timble, middleton moor (or is it middleham?) and the stif bikes demo route for a shortish blast (probably on their website) and the Nidderdale circuit obviously (altho I think I've been told they've repaired the descent to scar house res, so not as exciting anymore, might be wrong tho).

That's right, it's not as bouldery in the middle section, although it was starting to rough up a touch earlier this month, so hopefully this winter will make some improvements.
OP is on a rigid fatty though, so should be nice on that.

Is any of Nidd Gorge bridlepath? I thought it was mostly cheeky trail status? Unfortunately I can't give any specific routes as I tend to make mine up a bit, joining up bits of bridlepath together with some roads but a bit of time with an OS map will soon show up plenty of options riding straight out from central Harrogate. I have managed 50mile+ routes that never go more than about 15 miles out of town - towards Knaresborough around the back of the showground, towards Wetherby via Collingham, towards Leeds via Esholt (where Emmerdale is filmed) and through Meanwood Park.

Is any of Nidd Gorge bridlepath?
In theory down from the gardener's to the ford and up the otherside. Of course the ford has been impassable since "i wer a lad", so the footpath is arguably* a reasonable diversion until such point as it's reinstated.
