Thinking ahead to the October half term and would like to go somewhere different for the week. We've never been to the Lakes so were considering that but not sure of the weather at the end of October. Any locals care to advise? Will be walking rather than on the bike.
The other option is to do a couple of city breaks in Europe on the Eurostar. Again any recommendations please?
Where are you based? If near London (your Eurostar option suggests a possibilty), then how about Bilbao, a bit different, a great city, combine it with a trip to San Sebastien. (flights from Heathrow with vueling).
Wait til later in year for Lakes - less crowded.
Look outside at the weather - other European countries surely have a better chance of nicer weather?
I'm in the flatlands of Nofolk. Getting to the Eurostar is a 2hr train ride, to the lakes a 5-6hr drive. I've decided not to fly from any London airports, too much hassle, hence the Eurostar option.
