He's aspy/on the spectrum iirc from his autobiography. Which would explain the not liking doing publicity, obsessive attention to detail and singlemindedness.

My daughter asked me why my new bike was so flippin expensive (she'd never fit in on here). So I explained it was hand-made in Halifax and courtesy of Guy and MTBcut I got to show her (been shown on here before but nowt wrong with a rerun)
Her low level swearing has improved no end.
