The UK government has given its support to a project to use oral contraceptives to control grey squirrel populations

I happen to know, because i read it on the Just 17 Problem Page, that you don’t get pregnant that way anyway...

I actually need to redeploy the trap but need a good smelly bait. All of the smell has evaporated from the original pack and peanut butter doesn't work

Any good suggestions for either something smelly to tempt squirrels or something good to do with cheap smooth peanut butter would be much appreciated

Add it to stirfries with some creme fraiche for a faux Malaysian taste.

The trap is purely smell based to prevent accidental side kill. Wife suggested they might prefer crunchy peanut butter until I pointed out (again) that they are dead before the taste the bait. It is all about the smell.

Squirrel Satay

i think a more effective way, rather than traps or tiny condoms, to eradicate the squirrel problem in the UK would be to put Christopher Greyling in charge of their conservation

Christopher Greyling in charge of their conservation

On that basis do we not need him more as Minister for the Universal Transmission of Covid?

Although not sure I'm prepared to take the risk that fate might intervene.

Just use the new Lynx "Lady Squirrel" deo ...it's like cat nip but for pesky tree climbing rodents

I'm no fan of grey squirrels but what could possibly go wrong with the plan of giving them contraceptives?? History is littered with examples of biocontrol that failed.

Summer of squirrel love, possibly involving squirrel folk music and widespread demonstrations against the Grey/Red war.
