Id like to format a cell so that if another cell contains text the cell is green and says "yes" and if impty red and "no". Help

Super easy!

For the yes/no just use an IF statement. For the colouring use conditional formatting. Takes a couple of mins.

I can do each bit individually but collectively

So say I put something in F5 I want F7 to then be green and say "yes"

I can get it to change colour but not add text too.

Never used it, but can't you combine IF and AND functions ?

In the conditional formatting menus there's a drop down where you can make the condition a formula. Only trouble is it doesn't paste to other rows correctly, a known bug apparently. The more I use Google drive and its apps the more shortcomings I find
