the placebo is a fantastic medical device not to be underestimated as is it positive thought...well that and the fact most injuries get better anyway...it is like the body can repair itself.

I suspect the massage /rubbing is more therapuetic than the actual oil used

EDIT: I am not saying it does not work ,it probably does. I am just suggesting how/why it might work

Hardly an earth shattering finding is it. Rubbing anything makes the pain go away.

lol above !
no it realy does relieve abit of pain... its quite theraputic actually....
ive had some head pain and stiff neck constantly for 3 weeks now... just been looking at yoga exercises too for neck and head problems...had bad flu for couple of weeks then left with head pain that wont shift...anyway a doctor said i have a tender area in the neck (facit)joint so just looking to what massages i could do to relieve the stress inflamation in that area...(i guess its all the brain thinking ive been doing into getting a tatoo..lol 😉

Keep away from 'un-ergonomic' laptop positions ?

elaine anne the video is of a guy rubbing his neck. There are no useful techniques in that video. Find the knot in your muscle and give it the vulcan death grip for a few seconds and see what happens.
