As title suggests- I'm off to bournemouth in a couple of weeks, arriving Saturday morning and have a bit of time to kill in the afternoon.

Looking for a good, central pub with decent beer to while away a few hours. Good food would be a nice bonus 🙂

If you can hop on a bus,

I think they take place on Saturdays.

You'll struggle there. Mind you did have a good Saturday afternoon and night out in Boscombe just down the road a couple of weeks ago inc. Urban Reef & Beach (good food & beer) plus Chaplin's cellar bar (good beer & music). Pretty run down area with a lot of odd characters about but we thought it was great (could be due to too many sherberts though).

You're doomed.

However, to add to the above Boscombe recommendations, you can head to the other end of town to the Triangle. Goat and Tricycle is really the only old boozer in town. Four Horseman has a good selection of beer but 'student rock night' vibe to it. Brewhouse and Kitchen has just opened there too, it's a chain but they have their own microbrewery in each pub.
