Do you declare them? I'm not talking about the occasional Christmas bottle of wine/whisky and obviously not cash, but do you declare gifts from suppliers with bigger orders to your company?
technically yes as they are actually a taxable benefit, but very hard to police
most places have a form you have to fill out don't they?
We can't accept anything with a value of above 15 euros.
Yes
No forms here that i'm aware of. A supplier is sending through a Nintendo DSi. Will ask about within the company.
Declare it on your tax return
tbh Its not worth having hassle over any supplier 'gift'.
In my last perm role we had a xmas charity raffle with proceeds going to charity. I just passed on the 'gifts' (including a case of spirits...) and ensured that the supplier got a mention when the gift was been auctioned at the do.
All were happy, including the suppliers - who were told.
A colleague I used to work with received a huge box of posh truffle chocolates. She was most put out when told by the Marketing Director that she had to share them with the rest of the department. One of the benefits of corporate life.
