Looking at getting one to replace the CD player, but am now a bit muddled!
Budget, £350ish.
Looked at Bose & B&W stuff but need some advice/opinions.

Depends what you want to play music from. An iPod is poor at taking CDs 😀

B&W beats Bose. Going for a bluetooth one? All this dock stuff has been pants since the newer devices complain about 'not able to charge from this accessory'. The new apple iOS devices don't even feature the dock connector.

I have an old Apple HiFi that beats the sound pants off my Bose sounddock.

Unless you need the space you're as well going for an amp and speakers and a 3.5mm stereo jack to phono adapter.

Sorry, all that seems a bit random. iLounge usually have considerate reviews. I'd recommend the B&W docks over the Bose ones.

I have B&W Zeppelin, and Zeppelin Mini. Both are awesome. I had to buy the wee adaptor to allow them to accept my iPhone 5 as they are both a couple of years old but it's so small it doesn't spoil the look of them.

I looked at Bose, and found the sound quality from the B&W much better. But that may well be just my taste so I'd certainly look to give them both a good listening to before forking out your cash.

Don't think I'm arsed about Bluetooth (confused enough as it is!) I listened to a Bose at Maxwells in Northallerton & thought it sounded pretty good, but now know I need to hear a B & W Zeppelin! Also, I don't think I'll be copying CD's onto the Ipod anyway. (wouldn't know where to start!)
Thanks guys. Again.

I got a Sony unit for the OH a year or so back. It's been excellent. DAB tuner, and all that.

We have a Bose sound dock as well as a Bose wave system with iPod dock. Both are really good but would say the wave system is better quality also plays CDs directly and gives slightly better sound. Now looking to replace both with sonos system which have as good if not better quality sound and can be controlled from iPhone, iPad or iPod touch through the app. If you are anywhere near York there is a Bose shop at the designer outlet (McAuther Glen) where you can test all of their systems against each other in the same place.

What, like Boroughbridge?

I'll be trying there then!
Cheers jo.

I've got the Vito version of the Ruark dock. I really like it, DAB and FM radio helps it's case too in my opinion.

I have a Bose system out here. Does tend to make everything sound a little bass heavy - but that is partially due to its location. The volume and quality of the sound produced is pretty good for a small unit. That said I've never really liked the sound of MP3's. But then Im a big 70's speakers / amps kinda guy.

The Zeppelin is pretty much considered to be the mutts sound-wise by people who know anything about audio. There's an even bigger, super-whizzy B&W box around now, but cheap it ain't! About £700, according to the review I read.
Go for the Zep, it has Airplay, as well as docking, which is all you need.
I don't have one, btw, I use my Mac Mini into my Yamaha, so I'm just going on all the reviews, and a few minutes listening to one. Very impressed, too.

Right now Richer Sounds are selling the Monitor Audio iDeck 100 for £80 and the iDeck 200 for £130. They have the old 30 pin connector but that is an excellent price for docks that are comparable to the B&W gear and were selling for hundreds more not long ago. At that price adding an airport express for AirPlay and/or a lightning adaptor is pretty reasonable.
