I bought a wardrobe on ebay, it needs moving 60 miles to me, looks like it's too big for my pal's car I'd planned to borrow.

I've pm'd a few "van-men" for quotes, is there any other way of getting it here cheaply?

Dundee -> Edinburgh FWIW.

Or who's cheap for short term van hire in Edinburgh?

How mch was the wardrobe ....

Also why not hire a van fir the day and go fetch ?

I got a quote for £80, seen hire at £43, fuel = say £15, I'm time-poor so saving 4 hours for £22 is worth it, though if it will go in a Corolla Verso I'll borrow my pal's.

WR was only £80

2nd the Shipley idea, recently used it to move the MX5 back out of storage as was cheaper than hiring a trailer.Basically you advertise what you want moving, start and finish locations and couriers offer you a price for the job.You then choose who you want to offer the job to.

Try searching 'delivery' in the furniture section eBay. You get a few folk who are cheap so long as you and the seller are patient and a few more pick ups and drops arise at each end. I got a big piece of wood working machinery moved from Poole to Glasgow that way for less than diesel if I went myself.
