Garmin Fenix issue…Any micro-soldering electrical wizzes about?

Morning,

Ive managed to acquire a lovely Garmin 6 Pro that has issues with Bluetooth. Pretty sure it’s a hardware issue. Doesn’t connect at room temperature but when it’s been cooled down in the fridge it connects fine whilst it’s cold. When it warms up it goes again. Thinking it’s a solder/connection issue.

A bit of digging found this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GarminFenix/comments/1l385us/i_fixed_the_fenix_6_pro_bluetooth_faulty/

Has anyone had any experience with this or tried a repair? I’m always keen to try my hand to repair things but this is beyond my pay grade!

Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thanks

Chris

Silly question but do you need Bluetooth? I've got a Fenix 6 and have set it up on the home WiFi, so it normally syncs via that before it does via the phone.

Appreciate if you're out and about you'd want Bluetooth plus if you want to connect it to anything ie HRM.

But thought I'd ask the question in case the soldering has the chance of bricking it.

These people might be able to help. They are currently fixing a motorcycle Bluetooth intercom for me, but they do all sorts. Very responsive to email requests and very helpful.

Thanks. That is very true and I hadn’t really thought about just using wifi. I like the BT connectivity but agree I may not mess too much if there too much risk of bricking it!

Thanks for the info. They’re actually only 15mins from me so may see what they think. Thanks
