The springy thingy went twang on my up and over garage door recently and propping it open is proving to be a PITA.

Can anyone suggest what my options are? I assume a repair is cheapest, but it's a cheap fibreglass skinned door with a broken lock so I'd be open to suggestions for replacement options. Side hinged is out as an open garage door would block the door into the house. The garage is not used to park a car these days and is partitioned off about 1/3 down. Making it more comfortable in the winter would be a bonus but I still want access from the front to get bikes out.

The springy things are often fixable. There are 2 common designs IME, a linear spring and a torsion spring. Getting the tension back into the spring is the tricky bit but there are online guides. The locks are usually easy to fix too. They are generally modular and you can buy all the bits.
