Would anyone have a rough idea what price per hectare a landowner would expect to get for access to a woodland and shooting rights, say for pheasants?

Does it come with pheasants or do you need to supply your own? Will depend on the size of the land, rearing potential, cover and shooting positions etc along with the market. Are you close to other shooting venues?

All I know is a story I heard; a landowner/shoot wanted to charge the rspca £40000 for a day of lost income as the rspca wanted to shut a short access path/road to do some maintence work

Or I might have misread does somebody want to shoot their pheasants from your land? How much do you like pheasant for dinner?

Piece of string?

Back when I shot animals it varied from free, free membership of the syndicate or few hundred pounds. However, another farm may charge thousands just because of its location.

Dunno but a pub local to me was doing shoots. I stopped reading the info page when it got to travel arrangements and detailed where you could land your helicopter...

BASC should have some answers for you. If you're the shooter, you're probably a member already but I guess it could vary a lot, as already mentioned by others.

If you're the landowner and someone is asking for your permission and offering to pay you, definitely contact your local BASC team. They have model agreements and permission forms you can use and can probably give you some idea of what others charge...
