Interesting approach to the 'trust a complete stranger' element of game shows.

Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I thought of that method the first (and only) time I saw that show.

It's the only way to force your opponent to guarantee someone gets some money as long as they're not a complete idiot..

Brilliant twist at the end, didn't see that one coming. An unecessary risk if you ask me, but nice way of doing it.

Never occurred to me, but,

I saw that coming immediately. If I was Ibrahim I'd have been overjoyed cos I'd know he was going to do what he did; I'd feel very safe in splitting. I'd feel very safe in stealing, but hand on heart, on that sort of show I'd always split.

I know it's a game and stealing is 'playing the game and winning', but I just couldn't sit there and spill out a pack of billy for 30 seconds before screwing someone over. I couldn't deny someone a potentially life-changing amount of money because they'd trusted me and I'd lied, I honestly couldn't live with that.

For serious sums of money with people I don't know? No.

I'm not entirely convinced that that's a fair analogy, though. There's no requirement on players to make opponents trust them, and no lying involved.

In the golden balls thing I don't think there's any requirement to talk to each other, you can just make your choice.

Same in poker, there's no requirment to talk to each other, but you can if you want. Bluffing is a form of lying, it's trying to make someone believe something that isn't true.

I agree, it would be fairly tricky to lie to a stranger face on and tell them that you're going to split, when really you're going to screw them over. But life changing amount of money? Not really, not for most people. But the lying is a non issue, the best way to play is to tell the truth, steal, then bank transfer aftwards.

BTW In UK casinos and poker rooms you can't talk to a player about a hand/game still in play. Many visiting yanks have been caught out by this rule as they've tried to talk people into or out of a hand!
