I traded in some old camera gear last summer and have been sitting on the £900 store credit ever since, procrastinating over what to spend it on. I'd anticipated adding a lense or two to my Olympus 4/3 setup, but decided that the camera body itself was the weakest link, so maybe time for a new camera body?
Anyway, the latest Olympus releases haven't really got me too excited, but the new Fuji looks pretty interesting. I'm after something that will cover everything (my Olympus is poor for moving subjects and I get a lot of odd sensor noise on long exposures). I've never so much as handled a Fuji camera before, so can anyone share their experiences of the X-T3 or T2? The camera I traded in last year was the GH5 - I never really got on with the handling of it, it felt like a small DSLR, whereas the Fuji looks to be slimmer and more in line with what I would expect a mirrorless to be.

I have a X-T1. It's *lovely*. Seems to be the perfect merge of mirrorless and DSLR: lots of dials and buttons, but a lot smaller than something like a Canon EOS.

If you don't want something that feels like a small SLR then maybe Fuji isn't for you. We've also got a Panasonic GX7 and I'm very impressed with that too: small, lots of control, but very much a Panasonic m4/3 camera.

Maybe it's time to find a decent camera shop and hold some cameras?

Yeah, go and hold it. Sometimes a camera just feels right.

I use/used a top end Fuji for work and it takes stunning images with the right lens. I took one photo of my girlfriend that, when zoomed in, allowed me to see me in the reflection in her eye.

I’m a professional photographer and I use a Fuji X-H1 as my second camera when I can’t be arsed to lug around big Nikon kit. I’ve tried lots of mirrorless cameras and that’s the only one that felt useful in my hands. Image quality (like all modern digital cameras) is great.
They’re available at bargain prices now. Spend the money you save on lenses.

Most of the new features of the xt4 are video related, could be the 3 will fit the bill and should be available cheaper and certainly a few more second hand when the 4 comes out. I've an XT20 and love it, not too much in the newer models that would tempt me to change.

I know a few people with the XT-3, it does take lovely pictures (photographer makes all the difference of course).

Personally I've just gone for an X100F to use when I can't be bothered with the Nikon mirrorless.

There a lot of fans of the XT series, but like others say, get hand on and test it a bit first.

I have an X-T10 as a carry-about camera and to supplant my DSLRs. I love it, with a tiny 27mms it's amazingly good for the size and money. I'd can the two Nikons for X-H's if I though the tech was more mature and they didn't eat batteries quite as much...

I have an XPro1 - was thinking of getting an XT-3 but last night ordered an XH-1 instead.

Xt4 has a new battery and next year it's rumoured that there will be an XH2.

Out of interest, what is the olympus body that you have now? Do you really mean 4/3 or actually m4/3?

I'm in a similar situation with a gh2 (so very old) and was looking at an em5mk3. The xt3 I tried was lovely but was substantially bigger than a m4/3 set up fo a given equivalent focal length. I guess it depends on what your requirements are in terms of size, dof, etc.

I have the E-P5 which is essentially the predecessor to the Pen F. For a camera that can be picked up now for less than 200 quid it's still pretty good. It's built very well, has IBIS and live histogram mode, both of which are very useful. As it's small it will fit in a framebag, along with the tiny primes, and the look of the images is very nice. That small size though is a detriment when it comes to the larger zooms and longer focal lengths, so that is what's driving the interest in the Fuji. It looks a bit bigger, without being full dslr sized (been there with the Nikon D700, lovely camera but the weight was too much). I had the GH5 for the video, but the Fuji looks to be very strong on that too.

As in a balance/grip issue or something else? The em5mk3 comes with a free grip at the moment (wex) which may give you the grip without the size.
