Apologies for not asking this on a money forum....but it's my bike savings involved here.

Is it possible to open a new ISA account and transfer an old ISA into an existing ISA all in the same year?

Thanks in advance

Yes but depends on the account, a lot of accounts will NOT accept transfers. Alliance and Leicester have best ISA at 3.2% at the minute but it's only for new accounts being open.

I'm thinking of transferring previous ISAs to the M&S 3 year one - 4% from them.

the long termers do have better rates but this is technically my house deposit. Maybe, just maybe I can strike this year so don't want any penalties involved for an early withdrawal.

OO mudshark I hadn't seen that one, but even still 3 years is a long time to lock my money up, 2 years I could probably do. I shall have to have a look. Can you transfer into the M&S one too? If so, that's good!!
