MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
We're off to France for the first week of October for a week, and want to get a campsite booked. Criteria are:
- Open in October (limits choice quite a bit it would seem)
- South, for maximising warmer weather
- Within 8 hours drive of Calais
- Has swimming pool
- Within mile or so walk of nice little town/village with supermarket and a couple of bars/restaurants
- Decent riding from the gate, either roady or bimble-core MTB
Ideas?
Florac
A little over 8hrs (8:30)

open until Nov, but the pool will probably be closed before you get there as that's v late in the season to be keeping the pool open.
and some great riding: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/route-guideride-report-france-tarn-cevennes-big-post-pic-heavy
Santenay - Burgundy. Closer at 6hrs

Open late in the season, in a fantastic location for wine. Extreme Double-black Bimble-core routes http://www.burgundy-by-bike.com/
[s]Municipal pool next door

AH, looks like pool might have closed by Oct.
Cheers Stoner, will take a look. You're right though, finding a pool still open is proving tricky...
