So i cooked two shepherds pie...one is in the oven...one i have obviously browned the mince on/cooked the potatoes.

Does it make sense to put it in the freezer in it's current state? That was i can just slam it in the oven later on.

Sensible suggestions please.

yes you can freeze as is, but when you come to cook it, be aware that it will need longer at a lower temp to defrost without burning the top than you would normally cook it for if not frozen.

Are you planning to reheat by oven or microwave?

If reheating in the oven then as above, but if you want to be able to heat it up quickly in the microwave then I would cook it first so that it is ready to eat, then freeze it.

The mash will dry out slightly if you freeze and re-heat it. Just sprinkle some water on to wet the mash before you re-heat.
