I did some running hill reps a couple of nights ago, usual stretching etc after

Last night I used my foam roller as unfortunately I couldn't get out for a loosening off run.

This morning the outside edge of my left calf is tweaking slightly with a bruised feeling. Could I have actually inadvertently cause a small injury?

Unlikely you'd do anything more than slight surface bruising with a foam roller. More likely the hill reps caused some damage to the muscle and that's what you're feeling.

Every Strength and Conditioning Coach / Physio I know recommends SMR with a foam roller.

I'm a huge fan of SMR and have three foam rollers and Lacrosse balls (at work, home and the gym)...
