Had what I presume was flu last week
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and most of Wednesday in bed
Could hardly move
Dragged myself to work on Thursday and Friday
Yesterday did absolutely nothing. I didn't wake up until almost noon 😯 , then spent the rest of the day on the sofa either reading or watching movies
Today I've only just woken up and if I'm honest I could probably sleep a few more hours. I'm getting frustrated and bored.
I wanted to go for a ride today, but is it a good idea when I'm feeling so knackered while I'm doing nothing?
Probably another week before you'll be right.
No need to rush - get better first! Oh and stay away from work!
Yup, if you are too tired to work/do stuff, rest until you aren't.
I've had bronchitis for 3 weeks now. Really dull. And to top it off I'm on an extended holiday between two jobs and I should be out riding my bike!
had 1st week of December, ...just felt better and back to normal now 😐
Proper man flu.....2016 at the earliest!
Sounds like proper flu.
When I was teaching it always amused me when students came back after a day off college
"Where were you yesterday?" I would ask
"I had the flu"they would say.
" No,you had a cold, if you had flu I wouldn't be seeing you today, you would still be in bed, and tomorrow, and the next day..."
It was almost inevitably boys I had this conversation with, most girls came in and worked through their minor sniffles.
Had this since December 21st, still feel rotten now. Horrible cough & weak & wobbly. At least the weather is rotten.
I've had proper flu once. Went back to work too soon and went down with some post viral thing, came out in a rash all over and felt even worse than the flu. Gp signed me off for a week after seeing the rash(from a distance) then another week when I staggered into the surgery a week later.
Moral: don't push it.
Posted from my sofa, dosed on paracetamol and sudafed after commuting into that headwind on Friday with the beginnings of a cold.
You should NOT have gone to work. Flu is serious. It will take another week to recover.
Had this as well since Mid-December. Started out as a bad cold, then a chest infection, now free of snottery symptoms since roughly New Years Day but feeling completely wiped out pretty much round the clock, no matter how much time I spend in bed or on the couch.
went back to work last week when I probably shouldn't have. An unfortunate spin off of the 'convenience' of working from home.
4th week of manthrax here. I am officially fed up of it now! I want to exercise.
I wouldnt do much if I were you...as boring as it is, a ride in the cold wind could set back your recovery.
I'm falling asleep on the sofa again after my exhausting trip to the supermarket
It's ridiculous
Also on week 4 of the flu and post flu lethargy. The weird thing is the sore throat which moves sides and gets better/worse randomly. Hoping to be exercising again in a week but I've been saying that since boxing day...
Sounds like the SingleTrack Massive have been hit hard by the flu this year.
Maybe you should all plan a Survivors ride in the Spring?
Iv had the flu for the last 3 weeks. Don't feel to bad at min just got a head full of snot.
Had a double dose throughout December until a few days ago. Just had my first bike ride and swim for a month. Still feel wasted but every day it improves. Never had it this bad, is taking time to regain the energy, reactivate muscles. Recommend eating very healthy food and making small regular steps rather than big ones.

Snap! But I did carry the groceries by bike 🙂 Small steps...
I've had flu twice in my life. Once when younger, last time was four years ago. Recovery first time wasn't too bad. As an adult I felt wiped out fir a few weeks after and it took several months to really shake off.
It's up there with malaria IME.
Had it 4 years ago, went back to work too soon. Ended up getting pneumonia, had that for 8 weeks (was only sent to hospital 6 weeks in to it) took me about a year to get back to normal health.
Take it easy!
