Well, ok not completely what's wrong with me, somethings can never be explained, but I finally get my MRI scan to find out if I have ruptured my PCL and/or ACL ligaments and/or torn my cartilage in my knee, it might be one of any of those, or possibly a combination.
I can't wait to get to the bottom of it on Wednesday.
tenner says you've got chondromalacia patella
A bit more serious than that I think, it was after a BMX crash and my leg keeps giving way. They decided I needed MRI after doing this test
Eeew, I had to stop watching after 10 seconds!
It does tend to have that effect on people.
Good luck with the results but I was told (when they did my MRI and found nothing)that it only picks up 80% of cartilage tears.....so you may still not get an answer.
Fingers crossed you are on of the 80%.
They have warned me that they might be going in with a camera as well, depending what they do or don't find.
My history tells me that for those types of injury, mri shows not alot..
good luck
Oooh my leg feels like it does that (in the vid) when I'm using fins and swimming - I can hear it clunk about, and I can feel it a bit when I've spent a while bent over my car (my bumper sits at about the top of my shin putting a lot of force on the knee). Can't see it in normal use though. Wonder what exercises are needed to sort it if it's not a rupture?
Good luck OP!

is it dogger's knee?
That vid is ACL, I know, both mine are like the vid, though not quite so extreme, though if I was unconscious maybe as slack, who knows, what I dont get is why they do MRI on it, might as well just have a look inside... must be a cost thing.
Yeah that is ACL, but they seemed more worried about my PCL, although mine was doing that a lot which is why they think it might be worst.
I'm not sure why, the doctor had told me I needed an arthroscopy (camera in the knee) and maybe an MRI, so when I got my appointment through that's what I thought I was getting, instead I got x-rays and the above test done, only to be told exactly what the doctor had told me. I guess the specialist can't be seen to be following the advice of a GP! So MRI on Wednesday and see what happens after that I suppose.
MRI will show up soft tissue damage - something the xray won`t be able to.
I can assure you they will never manipulate your knee anything like they do in the youtube vid - whilst your awake anyways.
You can assure me can you? That's why my I've been in soooo much more pain since they did that, maybe that is slightly to the extreme, but they moved it a lot, it didn't hurt at the time (felt very odd), but shortly afterwards and ever since my leg has been a lot worst.
I have lax ligaments as well which does that to a much lesser extent. Mine give way but i've always managed to catch it. The more I ride the less it happens. Oh and I've got Osgood Schlatters as well just for good measure 🙂
Hope you get better soon!
How long did you have to wait for the scan btw?
From my consultation it should have been just over a month from getting my confirmation letter, but I had a phone call from the hospital to say that they had pushed me up the list because of who I am and because someone knew me. I haven't a clue who that person was, I thanked them but didn't really feel like I could say, thanks, but who the hell are you? So I've had to wait two weeks for the scan. The whole process has been about 2.5 months from my original doctors appointment.
