It looks like FF I to VI are available on the Google Play store. Are they worth playing through?
I'm a huge FF VII fan (i was a teenager in the late 90s, which means I like it by default) but I've never played any of the earlier ones.
Are they at sensible prices? The thing that always put me off was that they wanted stupid money for them.
EDIT: just looked, £11 each. Ugh.
After ff7 or maybe 8, they released a bunch of the earlier ones for the playstation... I got nowhere with them though, just didn't click. I've a feeling it's one of those things when you can get over dated graphics and gameplay as long as you played it when it was fresh, but it's harder when it's old.
After reading some of the reviews, they seem like an expensive bug-fest. Coupled with the problem of needing to keep them connected to the Internet at all times, I think I'll give them a miss. Shame.
Just to bump this,
There's a Square Enix sale on at Steam at the minute. Most of the FF games are around half price (along with discounts on Tomb Raider and various other titles).

Spectacular bump. Just got 7 & 8. Particularly for the card game in 8 .
Definitely going to have some moments playing 7 again, it's been about 10 years since I played them. Good times.
Ah, Triple Triad.
I love 7 but 8's got some brilliant moments as well. Squaresoft are good at melancholy.
